How to put it together
- 1
Prepare the hat base by painting the oversized sombrero a vibrant magenta or pink if it isn't already.
- 2
Use hot glue to attach artificial yellow marigolds and miniature white skulls around the crown and along the edge of the hat brim.
- 3
Securely mount 10 to 15 lightweight LED taper candles around the top of the hat brim using strong adhesive or wire.
- 4
Decorate the neckline of the red dress with a row of yellow LED candles and additional silk marigolds.
- 5
Apply white face paint to your entire face and neck, then use black and teal paint to draw intricate sugar skull patterns around the eyes and jawline.
- 6
Put on the decorated red dress, carefully place the heavy candle hat on your head, and turn on all the LED candles.
Makeup & hair
Apply full Calavera (sugar skull) makeup with a white base, large black circles around the eyes detailed with teal petals, and a drawn-on skeleton mouth. Keep hair secured in a low, tight bun to accommodate the heavy, wide-brimmed hat.
