What you need for a Mushu costume

Red hooded sweatshirt or onesie
A bright red fleece hooded sweatshirt or a full-body red union suit serves as the base of the dragon body.
DIY: Use a plain red hoodie you already own.
Yellow felt belly patch
A large oval of bright yellow felt or fabric attached to the center chest to mimic Mushu's underbelly.
DIY: Cut an oval from a yellow t-shirt and safety pin or fabric-glue it to your red top.
Blue felt horns
Two small, curved horns made of royal blue felt or stuffed fabric attached to the hood.
DIY: Cut horn shapes out of blue cardboard or craft foam and glue them to a headband or the hood.
Orange felt whiskers and snout details
Slender orange felt strips for his dragon whiskers, plus white and black felt for his expressive eyes on the hood.

How to put it together

Put on the red sweatpants and the red hooded sweatshirt or onesie.

Cut a large oval out of yellow felt and secure it to the front chest area using fabric glue, double-sided tape, or safety pins.

Construct Mushu's face on the hood: cut out two large white circles with black pupils for the eyes, two royal blue horns, and two long, thin orange felt whiskers.

Attach the eyes, horns, and whiskers to the top and sides of the hood using hot glue or safety pins so they stand upright when the hood is worn.

Attach the stuffed red tail to the back waistband of your pants or onesie.

Slip on a pair of simple red or yellow sneakers to match the color palette.
Makeup & hair
