What you need for a Cloud costume

White umbrella or wide-brimmed hat
A sturdy base to attach the cloud fluff, ideally a clear or white dome umbrella.
DIY: Use a wide-brimmed sun hat or a piece of sturdy cardboard cut into a cloud shape.
Polyester fiberfill
Fluffy white stuffing used for pillows to create the cloud body.
Spray adhesive or hot glue
Heavy-duty adhesive to secure the fiberfill to the umbrella or hat base.
Blue felt or cardstock
Bright blue sheets to cut out dangling raindrop shapes.
DIY: Cut raindrops from blue construction paper or plastic folders.
Clear fishing line or blue ribbon
Thin, strong string to suspend the raindrops from the edge of the cloud.

How to put it together

Open the white or clear umbrella fully and place it upside down on a protected workspace.

Apply spray adhesive or hot glue in sections to the exterior canopy of the umbrella, pressing large handfuls of polyester fiberfill onto the glue until the entire surface is covered in fluffy white mounds.

Cut several lengths of clear fishing line or blue ribbon, ranging from 12 to 24 inches in length.

Cut out matching pairs of raindrop shapes from the blue felt or cardstock, then glue them together sandwiching the bottom of each fishing line.

Tie or tape the top of the fishing lines securely to the metal tips and rim of the umbrella so the raindrops dangle freely around the perimeter.

If using LED lights, carefully weave the wire string through the fiberfill, securing the battery pack to the inside frame of the umbrella with zip ties or tape.

Put on your solid gray or blue base clothing, open the umbrella, and hold it over your head to complete the look.
