How to put it together

  1. 1

Cut the bottom out of a large, round white plastic laundry basket so you can step inside it.

  2. 2

Attach two thick white webbing straps to the inside rim of the basket, adjusting them so the basket hangs comfortably at your waist.

  3. 3

Slice several colorful pool noodles into 2-inch rings to create realistic-looking cereal loops.

  4. 4

Glue the foam cereal loops densely inside the top rim of the basket using hot glue, letting some spill over the edges.

  5. 5

Cut a large spoon shape out of cardboard, paint it metallic silver, and secure it to the inside of the basket so it stands upright.

  6. 6

Put on your solid white t-shirt and pants to represent the milk.

  7. 7

Step into the basket, pull the shoulder straps over your shoulders, and adjust the fit.

Makeup & hair

Keep makeup simple and clean. You can add a playful touch by painting small colorful cereal circles on your cheeks using face paint, or wearing a colorful hair scrunchie that matches the cereal colors.

Tips

  • Keep the costume lightweight by using foam and cardboard so it is easy to wear and walk around in all night.
  • Make sure the bottom opening of the basket is wide enough for your legs to move freely so you do not trip while walking.
  • If wearing this outdoors in cool weather, wear a thick white sweatshirt or hoodie underneath the straps.
  • Secure the giant spoon firmly to the basket frame so you do not have to hold it in your hands the entire time.
