Polyester fiberfill

Spray adhesive
Heavy-duty craft spray adhesive to securely bond the fiberfill to the plastic umbrella surface.
DIY: Use hot glue applied carefully at low temperatures so as not to melt the plastic.
Blue felt or cardstock
Stiff blue material cut into classic teardrop shapes to represent falling rain.
DIY: Cut raindrop shapes from blue construction paper or cardboard packaging painted blue.
Monofilament fishing line

How to put it together

Open the clear dome umbrella fully in a well-ventilated workspace.

Apply spray adhesive in sections to the exterior plastic canopy, then press handfuls of polyester fiberfill onto the glue to build a thick, fluffy cloud layer.

Weave the battery-operated LED fairy lights through the fiberfill, securing the battery pack to the inside of the umbrella frame with tape.

Cut 10 to 15 raindrop shapes from the blue felt or cardstock.

Tie varying lengths of clear fishing line to each raindrop, then tie the opposite ends to the metal ribs along the rim of the umbrella so they dangle freely.

Put on your raincoat and rubber boots.

Hold the umbrella handle to position the glowing rain cloud directly over your head.

Tips
