How to put it together
- 1
Lay your plain black shirt or dress flat on a clean, hard surface.
- 2
Apply a horizontal strip of white fabric tape or fabric paint across the center of the shirt to act as the tile's dividing line.
- 3
Cut out several perfect circles from white felt or adhesive vinyl sheets to represent the domino dots (pips).
- 4
Arrange the white circles on the top and bottom halves of the shirt to represent a specific domino number combination (e.g., a 'double six' or 'three-four').
- 5
Secure the circles to the shirt using fabric glue, double-sided apparel tape, or by peeling the adhesive backing.
- 6
Let any glue or paint dry completely before putting the shirt on.
- 7
Pair the completed domino top with clean black pants, leggings, or a skirt.
Makeup & hair
Keep makeup clean and simple with a neutral look, or add fun black-and-white face paint accents. Hair can be styled normally or tied back in a sleek ponytail to keep the focus on the graphic tile design.
Domino for couples, groups, kids & more
- couples
- Go as a matching pair of dominoes that 'connect' (e.g., one person is a 3-4 and the other is a 4-5).
- group
- Have a large group dress as a complete set of dominoes, each choosing a unique number combination to form a human chain.
- kids
- Use a black youth-sized tee with white felt dots glued on for an easy, comfortable school costume.
- Plus size
- A loose-fitting black tunic or t-shirt dress provides a comfortable, flattering canvas for the white domino details.
- pet
- A small black dog sweater decorated with white felt dots makes for an adorable matching pet look.
Tips
- Use a drinking glass or a wide roll of tape as a stencil to trace perfectly uniform circles for your dots.
- If you are using tape for the dividing line, choose fabric-safe tape so it doesn't leave sticky residue on your clothes.
- Stand next to your costume partner in photos to show off your matching or connecting tile numbers.
- Wear comfortable black sneakers so you can walk around easily during Halloween parties or trick-or-treating.
